When choosing a flat panel monitor, select one with a refreshing or redraw rate of at least 70 Hz or higher. This way you are not bothered with flickering.

Remember when choosing a flat panel monitor that the dot pitch on a monitor should be small as the picture is sharper. The highest dot pitch you should go is .28 so you have a clear, sharp picture.

The two most common resolutions used on a flat panel monitor are 800×600 and 1024×768. If you try a higher resolution, it fits more on the screen but is harder on you eyes. Some people work around this by adjusting the internet browser font size.

Choosing a flat panel monitor means choosing one that has a great contrast ratio.

If not, say so. Tell the truth.

    2. Be brief.

Don?t tell the employer which specific companies you are interviewing with. It?s not their business nor is it pertinent. Typically a hiring manager just wants to know if you are going to be getting an offer soon from another company and if so how quickly. If you are interviewing for other jobs and are early on in the interview process, simply tell them that yes, you have other jobs you are interviewing for and leave it at that.

Personally, I think the best situation to be in is to have several interviews on the go and several possible jobs to choose from and to let a potential employer know this if they ask. Again, no specifics such as the names of other companies you are interviewing with should be divulged.

It?s sort of like having several people all interested in you at one time. Who doesn?t like that?

At a minimum, it might help to get the companies you are interviewing with to move a bit faster than they normally would if they are really interested in hiring you if they think they might lose you to another company if they?re too slow.

At the end of the day, most companies don?t just interview one person for a job so it?s unreasonable to think that you are going to interview with just one company at a time hoping they?ll hire you, if you have other opportunities you could pursue.

If you expect honest feedback and input from potential employers, it?s only fair that you provide them with the same.

    0 Comments | Derby Evening Telegraph, Jul 23, 2010

SUZUKI has brought out a special-edition version of the Alto.

Just 500 examples are being produced, so the SZ-L is not going to be available for long.

Based on the popular SZ3 mid grade version, its enhanced specification includes front fog lamps, exterior and interior upgrades in addition to air-conditioning, a pollen filter and side airbags, all for the on-the-road price of Pounds 8,170.

Exterior upgrades include new design wheel caps, black fog lamp surrounds and black B pillar trims as well as an SZL embossed tailgate trim and black side mouldings.

Inside, the special-edition SZ-L gets carpet mats and silver coloured trim for the gearshift knob, side ventilation louvres and door openers.

The SZ-L also gets body colour co-ordinated heater control, gear lever and door handle surrounds. Superior white or bright red nonmetallic paintwork is available.

Suzuki’s finance offers, running until September, mean the Alto SZ-L can be driven away for a deposit of 15%, followed by payments of Pounds 199 per month for three years. The SZ2 is available for Pounds 6,995 with a 10% deposit. Zero per cent finance is available with a 45% deposit, as well as Driveplan PCPs.

The Alto delivers 64.2mpg on the combined cycle and has an annual VED charge of Pounds 20

    However, you can, and
must, do everything to protect yourself and others.

A quick little story might help illustrate my point…

My son’s school is a public, charter affair. He “home schools,” and
the curriculum is on the internet. There are numerous families in
Odyssey Charter, each emailing the teacher, and sometimes each
    other, with important information.

Last year, one of the mothers called me. She was desperate. Her
child could not access the computer. She recalled getting a suspect
email a few months earlier (few MONTHS?!) and since then nothing
had been working right for them. Now it was a total disaster, the
    computer refusing to do anything.

After spending several hours a day at their house for several days,
I did locate the problem – yes, a virus. A truly sneaky one at that.

Unfortunately, there was no saving anything nor any way to
eliminate this threat. Yes, her hard drive had to be completely
    wiped.

Sad example of a lack of trust

0 Comments | Evening Standard; London (UK), Jul 21, 2010 | by Anthony Hilton

BY coincidence, just as yesterday saw the publication of the annual report of NS&I, it also saw a lobby of Parliament by action group Barclays Investment Victims Club, which is seeking redress for alleged mis-selling by the bank.

The lobby group’s allegations go to the heart of why there is so little trust between the financial sector and its customers, and underlines why NS&I scores so well. It is another tale that alleges adviser greed and incompetence followed by huge customer losses, and a refusal by those who sold the product to admit to any error or pay redress.

In this case, Norwich Union — now Aviva — relaunched two specialist investment products named the Balanced and the Cautious Morley Global Income funds in June 2006. Both were classified by NU as high-risk, scoring four on an index of one to five. The insurance company made clear that they should only be sold to people who liked high-risk “adventurous” funds.

Norwich Union/Aviva did nothing wrong but Barclays then negotiated a lucrative deal under which it too would sell the funds in return for an upfront commission of 4.5% and a trail commission of 1.3% a year

JE VICTIM SUES SCHOOL FOR NEGLIGENCE

0 Comments | BERNAMA; Malaysian National News Agency, Oct 30, 2009

from BERNAMA, The Malaysian National News Agency KUCHING, Oct 30 (Bernama) — In what is believed to be the first case of its kind in Sarawak, a 13-year-old boy who was diagnosed with Japanese Encephalitis (JE) while a boarder at the Sekolah Kebangsaan (Cina) Sungai Menyan in Serian in 2006, has filed a suit against the school authorities.

Brisbane Itang is suing the school and headmaster for alleged negligence and breach of their statutory duties.

He has also named the education and health ministries, as well as the state and federal governments as co-defendants, and is claiming more than RM1 million in damages.

As the boy is a minor, his father, Itang Lang, 43, sued on his behalf.

According to a statement of claim filed through his lawyer, Shankar Ram, the authorities concerned had failed to inform the parents of children staying at the boarding school — which was located next to a pig farm — of the possible oubreak of the deadly JE and the need to get them properly vaccinated against the disease.

As a result of the viral attack, Brisbane, then aged 10 and studying in primary four, sustained brain damage and was now permanently disabled, both physically and mentally, with serious neurological deficit

WordStream Launches New SEO Toolset With Advanced Keyword Research and Content Optimization Features

    Market Wire, April, 2010

When it comes to search engine optimization (SEO), some of the biggest pain points for website owners and marketers are researching and identifying profitable keywords, effectively integrating these keywords into their content and improving their website’s traffic. With the release of its latest product offering, WordStream for SEO , Internet marketing software provider WordStream, Inc. is giving site owners the tools to solve these all-too common problems.

WordStream for SEO is an advanced keyword research toolset that many are calling “keyword research on steroids.” The new software suite provides the same keyword analysis and keyword suggestion capabilities that SEO tools like Wordtracker and Keyword Discovery provide, but it moves light years ahead by layering in high-level keyword analytics, keyword grouping and organization features as well as integrated content authoring tools, all for the same price as other traditional keyword research tool sets (starting at $49/mo.).

“For the same money I was paying for Wordtracker’s keyword tool, I get all the same functionality I had with Wordtracker, with a deeper keyword database, keyword analytics, and really powerful keyword organization tools layered on top,” says WordStream customer Kwessi Annor. “So making the switch from Wordtracker to WordStream was a no-brainer.”

Rather than presenting a static list of keyword suggestions along with a handful of related keywords, WordStream for SEO provides users with:

Traditional Keyword Research : WordStream for SEO generates keyword suggestions that are pulled from a deep database of search engine queries
Personalized Keyword Suggestions : WordStream for SEO goes further than traditional keyword generator tools by mining your own site data to discover relevant keyword opportunities that people are already using to find your site
Keyword Analytics : Instead of vague estimates based on popularity, WordStream provides accurate visit and goal data for your keywords from your own site on a continuous basis
Keyword Organization : WordStream for SEO has sophisticated grouping and organization capabilities, which let users segment keyword lists and uncover content opportunities, analyze data in strategic clusters and create a SEO-friendly information architecture
Content Authoring : The SEO for Firefox plugin, within WordStream for SEO, connects your keyword research with your content creation efforts to help you generate better, more focused, search engine ready blog posts, product pages and sales copy

Amanda Watlington, SEO marketing expert and owner of Searching for Profit , says of WordStream for SEO, “This toolset will make it much easier for me to research, organize and track the large volumes of keywords that I need to manage for organic SEO for large retail sites where the sheer diversity of the product offering requires targeting hundreds and even thousands of keywords. I particularly appreciate how WordStream seamlessly pulls in my own analytics information.”

A major feature in the WordStream for SEO toolset is the SEO for Firefox plugin , which works alongside content management platforms, such as WordPress, Blogger and Drupal, and allows users to discover an array of keyword and content ideas around general or more specific topics as they are writing. The SEO for Firefox plugin also keeps a running count of each keyword phrase you use as you type, working to keep writers “on message” after the initial research stage.

“The WordStream SEO for Firefox plugin is the next step in the evolution of smarter SEO tools , and is a must for anyone who creates Web copy on a regular basis, be it a marketer, blogger, PR professional or social media marketer,” says Larry Kim, Founder and Vice President of Product Development at WordStream
